Ganpati is the elephant-headed child of Shiva and his consort Parvati in the Hindu mythology. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in the 6th Hindu month to celebrate the arrival of Ganesh or Ganpati and this is a huge festival in Maharashtra. With Ganesh Chaturthi approaching, artisans are looking forward to making money from these Ganesh idols. Devotees invest in the idols of Ganesh which will be immersed in a water body with a number of rituals. These artists at a idol making factory are busy with the final touches of colourful paint on the statue of the god of wealth and wisdom.
