Kanpur gets flooded in monsoon 2018: aerial view of outlying regions along Ganga. When a low-pressure area developed over Uttar Pradesh and the axis of Monsoon trough shifted northwards and was passing through Uttar Pradesh, heavy to very heavy rains occurred over the state. Rising Ganga and incessant rains have claimed 14 lives and caused widespread havoc in Kanpur region. The Ganga is flowing above the danger mark in Unnao, Kanpur and Fatehpur. Its tributaries were equally furious in Kannauj and Farrukhabad where hundreds of villages have been affected. The administration has sealed the Farrukhabad-Badayun road.The water level of Pandu river in South Kanpur and Chambal in Etawah has been rising sharply.
