An Indian Grey Mongoose is standing in an alert posture on sandy, leaf-covered ground within a wilderness orchard habitat during daylight hours. The mongoose appears attentive to its surroundings with its body raised and head positioned forward, a behaviour commonly associated with vigilance or defensive awareness. Its coarse grey-brown fur, elongated body, and bushy tail are characteristic features of the species. Indian Grey Mongooses are widely distributed across the Indian subcontinent and are commonly found in scrublands, agricultural areas, orchards, and forest edges. Dry leaves, exposed soil, and scattered vegetation are visible across the sunlit ground surface. The footage captures the natural behaviour of a small carnivorous mammal in an open orchard environment.
