Nasturtium are entirely edible plants - from flowers and leaves to stems! Besides, they are attractive and easy to grow, except that peafowl and partridge love to feast on the growing leaves and stems. Even they seem to know just how edible these plants are. Introduced from the Americas, which were then known as the Indies, they are also called Indian Cress. Tropaeolum /trəˈpiːələm, troʊ-/, commonly known as nasturtium (/nəˈstɜːrʃəm, næ-/;literally "nose-twister" or "nose-tweaker"), is a genus of roughly 80 species of annual and perennial herbaceous flowering plants. It was named by Carl Linnaeus in his book Species Plantarum, and is the only genus in the family Tropaeolaceae.
