A fruit-bearing Strychnos nux-vomica tree at Wilderness Orchard in New Delhi, India, heavily laden with bright orange fruits among dense green foliage. A mature Strychnine tree, also known as the Poison Nut tree, bearing numerous round orange-coloured fruits across its branches. The fruits have a smooth, hard outer shell and visually resemble citrus fruits such as oranges, although they belong to an entirely different plant species. The tree also displays deep green, glossy oval-shaped leaves typical of Strychnos nux-vomica. Native to parts of South and Southeast Asia, the species is historically known for its distinctive seeds and botanical significance. The orchard setting and surrounding greenery highlight the tree’s presence within an urban natural landscape in New Delhi.
