Pangong Tso lake in Changthang region of Ladakh has emerged as one of the most wanted places to visit among domestic tourists in recent times. Nestled at an altitude of 14,600 meters above sea level, Changthang is a high altitude plateau in the North western Tibet, extending from eastern Ladakh into Tibet. The main attraction of this place is Changpa nomads. It has been listed as one of India’s five ‘bio-diverse regions’. This area represents India’s Tran Himalaya region due to its cold desert environment and harsh climatic conditions in winters. The ecosystem has suffered a lot due to harsh weather conditions and thus many wildlife animals migrate to lower regions in winters.
