Khiamniungan Cultural Club Tuensang demostrates the cleaning of jungle known as Eiu Phong practiced during the olden days at the Hornbill Festival, Naga Heritage village, Nagaland. The Eiu phong is an activity carried out in the month of September to December. It involves the entire village people going to a rich man's field ( a man of wealth usually commands respect and prestige) to clean and clear thick jungle ion order to make way to shifting cultivation. The clearing has to be completed on the same day. After the completion young men unwind by competing against each other in spear throwing and wood cutting using doa's. The spear and doa being the main weapons of defence. This exercise also imparts necessary training to the young men for the purpose. Nagaland, 'The Land of Festivals' an
