This kilometre long serpentine village was built recently to cater to visitors. Before, it was just 'Banthanti', a rest house in the forest (Ban=Forest; Thanti=Rest House). If you feel like it, get some rest here and past the last of the lodges, the forest will begin in earnest. And if it is spring, the forest will be on fire with rhododendron blooms. The village is lined with homestays and chickens along with other livestock. Wood logs stacked together to fire up the heaters in these homestays. Like every other village in Nepal, Banthanti also practices organic farming as is evident from the cabbage crops.
