This lake has dried up in the summer-time. Yet this quad group of mother nilgai, an aunt and her two calves walk across the dry plain. The male stands in the grassland nearby. The nilgai or Blue bull (Boselaphus tragocamelus) is an antelope that has bred in great numbers across India partly thanks to its misnomer name which translated as 'Blue Cow'. Hence, few Hindus dare kill it for fear of treading on their own religious beliefs!
