Along the Shyok river lies the northernmost village of India, Turtuk. This hidden gem is the last village on the northernmost part of India. Covered by dry cold deserted mountains on all the sides, the village is green and produces some of the best quality Apricots in India. Turtuk is also one of the gateways for Siachin Glacier.
