Devotees carry the ceremonial palanquin of Goddess Yamuna towards the Yamunotri Temple in Uttarakhand. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel play traditional band music as the procession makes its way towards the shrine. Devotees dance and celebrate along the route, accompanying the palanquin during the religious procession. This annual tradition takes place on Akshaya Tritiya, when the deity is brought from her winter seat at Kharsali village to Yamunotri Temple, marking the opening of the shrine for the Char Dham Yatra.
