These women of the Mishing weavers' community create their own silk from silk-worms, and then proceed to spin the silk into yarn and shawls made on hand-looms. The enterprising women have been banded into self-help groups with the help of local tea plantation owner Omak Apang in Oyan village of Arunachal Pradesh.
