White Tulips on Delhi's roadsides: Not very Atmanirbhar and waste of funds, but pretty nonetheless. To think we don't even regenerate the bulbs and just let them rot in the ground. Unlike in Europe, where they breed and multiply, thanks to the climate! New Delhi Municipal Council has gone shopping with a tender that was satisfied by a Dutch bulb supplier such as Derck Schipper. It appears that Indian winter flowering plants are not an alluring as European tulips and so India uses its precious resources to import tens of thousands of tulip bulbs for a single flowering, and then disposal of those poor bulbs!
