Munshi Ghat is one of the more photogenic ghats along the Old City stretch of the Ganges in Varanasi. The Old India collides with the New India in this landscape which is dotted with generators and telecom towers, towering above a landscape that is otherwise eternal along the banks of the holy river. The Indian urban landscape is now cluttered with multiple cell-phone, data and other telecommunications towers, standing atop buildings that may or may not be able to hold their weight along with the added weight of generators that provide them with back-up power.
