Ravana effigies destroyed by south MCD in Titarpur area of New Delhi. One can see the destroyed effigies lie on road. A Ravana effigy maker speaks about the destruction. He says, "I am doing this work from past 30-32 years. We have never been interrupted by in those past years by any government authority in our work but this time they destroyed all our work with bulldozers. We have been working on these effigies from past 2 months we spent our own money on them." These craftsmen, apparently poor, whose only source of livelihood was making these effigies. Anguished over the corporation’s action, the bench asked the civic body to ensure that the effigies are restored to the artisans and facilities made available to them so they are able to complete their work.
