Energetic atmosphere of Lathmar Holi in Barsana, where thousands of devotees, tourists, and locals gather in the narrow streets to celebrate one of India’s most iconic Holi traditions. Dense clouds of pink and red gulal powder fill the air while participants dance, chant, sing, and celebrate with unmatched enthusiasm. Many people dressed in colorful turbans and traditional attire can be seen raising their hands in joy or recording the festivities on mobile phones as the celebration unfolds around the sacred town associated with Radha Rani. The famous Lathmar ritual reenacts the playful legends of Lord Krishna and Radha, where women from Barsana symbolically strike men from neighboring Nandgaon using wooden sticks called lathis while the men protect themselves with shields.
