The waters of the Jumna nadi run clean in the mountains, before we foul them in the plains. By and large a clean clear glacial torrent, the Yamuna has green-blue waters, while the Aglar is a non-glacial stream and brings in mud, silt, soil and much organic matter which is greatly eaten and enjoyed by the fish. So this is a great confluence point for fishermen, and has been since times immemorial, and even the time of British fishermen. The brown waters of the Aglar join the Yamuna at Yamuna pul.
