Madiwala Lake is one of the largest and most popular lakes of Bangalore. Situated in the southern part of the city, the lake is located between NH7 Hosur Road and Bannerghatta Main Road in BTM 2nd stage. As such, the lake is also known as the BTM Lake. The lake covers a large area of 114.3 ha and is a wonderful destination to observe a number of rare migratory birds. Madiwala Lake is an ancient water-body of Bangalore. The history of the tank can be traced back to 400 years. The tank was built to fulfil the demands of water for the purpose of irrigation, domestic use and primarily for washing clothes. Madiwala Lake is a peaceful place with beautiful green surroundings. The cool breeze blowing over the lake adds to the charm of the place at any time of the day. One of the major attractions
