Everyone is excited as they gear up for the Maha Kumbh Mela in the 1990's. Sadhus and akhada heads gear up with their trucks, getting ready to bedeck their cavalcade and make a grand entry to the mela, whether towed by a tractor, sitting atop a truck, landing up in an Ambassador car or on horseback! Shiny shimmer adornments are placed atop their vehicles. This is no less than the Rio parade, after all! gaindha or marigold malas or garlands are placed atop the buses, to adorn them. The modern day palki runs on diesel! Police and security personnel remain on standby.
