Himesh Reshammiya on the Jalsha album featuring contemporary folk music
From the archive record
Himesh Reshammiya: “The title of this album is Jalsha. This album features some of the best folk songs of India presented in a very contemporary way. We have selected some of the best folk melodies and combined them with my style of melody. The album includes a very romantic song, a Sufi song, a devotional number, and music presented in a very contemporary and modern way. It is a very well-designed album, and we have legends like Bismillah. Today, we have launched an album with Bismillah. From some of the best folk songs of India, there will be one folk song representing each state, and I will present each one in my own melodic style.”
