The Border Security Force (BSF) Camel Contingent takes part in a rehearsal for the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. BSF personnel mounted on decorated camels march in formation, wearing ceremonial uniforms with colourful sashes and traditional turbans, while the camels are adorned with decorative saddle cloths, tassels and other ornaments. A military brass band also marches along the parade route in red ceremonial tunics, dark trousers, white gaiters and wide-brimmed hats, carrying brass and percussion instruments. The bandleader at the front is seen tossing a ceremonial mace into the air as the musicians maintain their formation. The BSF Camel Contingent and its mounted band are longstanding features of India's Republic Day celebrations.
