Severe floods caused by heavy rainfall has thrown life out of gear in coastal Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, Nellore and Chittoor districts of the state have been severely affected due to floods. Roads, railway lines, and houses have been damaged in the heavy rains as water rose to the level of the roofs. At least 35 people have lost their lives in the state due to floods and related incidents. Keeping in view the devastation caused by floods, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has sought Rs 1,000 crore immediate relief from the Centre to overcome the crisis. Naidu conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Nellore and Chittoor districts.
