This evocative scene takes us inside an old film projector room at a theatre in Afghanistan, where the remnants of a once-vibrant cinema culture still survive. A local projectionist guides us through the damaged equipment, explaining how the projectors—originally high-quality German-manufactured machines—were destroyed when armed groups stormed the building years ago. Dust-covered reels, broken mechanisms, and rusted metal tell the story of a lost era of film appreciation. As he carefully handles the old film reels, the projectionist attempts to revive one of the surviving projectors, hoping to bring the big screen back to life.
