While political seesaw continued to grab headlines it was business as usual at the annual plenary session and AGM of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) the epics chamber corporate India. It was a change of guard at the top as Mr Shekhar Dutta, the outgoing president of CII handed over charge to the new president Mr N. Kumar. The witnesses to this event included nothing less than the most important person of the day, the new Prime Minister of India, Mr I.K. Gujral. Mr Gujral's presence was an endorsement of the fact that the government business relationship was here to stay despite the changing political equations.
