The small-scale industry sector has not only managed to survive following the opening of the Indian economy but continues to grow at an impressive rate the growing importance of the small sector was evident as Mr. P. V. Narasimha Rao the Prime Minister of India himself presided at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi this week to deliver the inaugural address today a small industry summit organized by Confederation of Indian Industry or CII. Speaking on the occasion the Prime Minister elaborated upon various policies undertaken by the present Government to boost the SSI sector and load of the role being played by this sector.
