Indian Government notified about the new rules to the small hotel owners in Pahar Ganj area of New Delhi. According to this notification, The minimum area of the small hotels is 209 sq. feet and there should be 18-meter wide road before the hotel, there should not more than 15 rooms and hotels with more than 250 sq. feet area should have the parking within the hotel compound. According to small hotel owners, after this notification more than 50% small hotels would shut down. They believe that this decision of Urban Development Ministry is in the favor of big hotels. The total number of small hotels is approx. 4,000 and there is approx. 4,000 crore investment on these hotels.
