A place full of waterfalls with dizzying heights and a calm forest full of life, the Panna National Park can both, thrill you and calm you. The National park is also declared as a 'Project Tiger' reserve in 1994 and is the 22nd tiger reserve of India. The reserve area lost all its tigers by the year 2008, but in 2009 under Mr. R Shreenivasa Murthy(IFS) in collaboration with WWF and PATA, 2 tigers were reintroduced and now the reserve is flourishing with 52 tigers all-in-all in less than a decade. All thanks to the forest department for their care and maintenance. The forest receives heavy rainfall during monsoon season, rejuvenating the dried up waterfalls or 'barsati nala'.
