The Gair dance is a vibrant traditional folk performance from Rajasthan, prominently showcased during the Pushkar Mela. It is historically associated with the Bhil community, though Kalbi and Ghanchi communities also perform it during major cultural gatherings. Performed especially during Holi and large festivals like Pushkar Fair, Maru Mahotsav (Desert Festival), and Baneshwar Fair, Gair is a rhythmic circular dance. Male performers move in synchronized formations, striking wooden sticks (dandiya) together to create powerful percussion patterns. The attire is distinctive: white angarkha (long tunic), flared lower garments, colorful safas (turbans), and ornamental waistbands.
