Rajasthani men perform gair dance at the Pushkar fair in Pushkar, Rajasthan while the foreign tourists gather around dancing and clicking pictures of the dancing men. In the far end of the field where the audience is seated to enjoy the festivities is a small girl walking on a rope. A cotton candy vendor roams around offering 'buddhi ke baal' as known in Hindi to the spectators. Dandi Gair is a variation of the Gair dance performed in the Marwar region of Rajasthan. This folk dance is performed by the men and women of the Bhil community. The word Gair means ‘circle’ in the regional language and therefore is performed within circular formations.
