Jackal at Sariska National Park in Rajasthan, India. See some excellent close-ups of the face with its long snout... The Golden jackal or Canis aureus is the largest of the jackals, and the only species to be found outside of Africa. Although often grouped with the other jackals, genetic research indicates that the golden jackal is more closely related to the gray wolf and the coyote.
