Genda village during Holi or as they call it 'Uli' festival. The locals dance on the beats of huge size percussion being played by men dressed as 'Mogli'. A small village at the foothills of Satpura range in the district of Nandurbar in Maharashtra. Even though the region is quite arid, the tribals do manage to grow some crops. It is a village with a population of around 1200 people living in houses made of mud and bamboo. The fifteen-day celebration traverses hundreds of villages in the district, a few villages at one day. During these days, men dressed as women and as wild animals dance with glee in hordes of hundreds to the tunes of folk instruments, as other men adorn colorful headgears made out of paper, weapons, etc perform various different traditional dance forms like Molgi.
