A cluster of Turkey tail mushrooms is growing horizontally from the side of a tree trunk in a forest environment. These bracket fungi, also known as shelf fungi or polypores, form layered semicircular structures attached directly to decaying wood. The pale white fruiting bodies display thin overlapping caps characteristic of turkey tail mushrooms. Trametes versicolor is a wood-decomposing fungus commonly found on dead logs, stumps, and fallen branches in humid woodland habitats. As a polypore species, it releases spores through tiny pores located on the underside of the fungal surface rather than through gills. The close-up footage highlights the texture, layered growth pattern, and natural woodland setting of the fungi.
