Barrage on the Saryu river along the Indo-Nepal border. Muddy waters swell up the Sarju river as the monsoon dumps mud, silt and rains upstream in India and Nepal. The skies are grey with laden clouds and the rivers swollen brown with mud, silt and sediment. Little riverine islands get exposed between the deep and fast swollen flows of the conjoined Sarju and Kali rivers below Pancheshwar. Pancheshwar is a village development committee in Baitadi District in the Mahakali Zone of western Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2,951 and had 510 houses in the village.
