A traditional mud and clay potter hard at work, old Indian style! His hut has incomplete huts baking in the sun outside. Inside, he flattens out the rounded outsides of the pots, preparing them for completion. Outside, one sees the clay oven in which he makes them. In another part of his yard, you see the completed earthen pots for holding water. Nana is a village in the Bali tehsil of Pali District of Rajasthan. It is located three kilometers from the railway station of the same name on the Ahmedabad - Ajmer railway line. The ancient name for Nana was Nanaka. It is a historical village and existed as far back as the 10th century, as is known from the inscription of 960 AD in the Jain temple. This place is associated with Jainism, where the life-size image of Mahavira was once worshipped.
