There is a strange sense of order in this image of urban congestion and crowding in Meerut city in Uttar Pradesh state. The rows and rows of colourful houses and roof-tops belies the urban atrophy and crowding at the local street and lane level... Who would have thought Meerut was such a green and smart looking city, at least when seen from the air? The massive bus stand looks efficient and spacious for so many buses, as well. The roof-tops are colourful, there's a green grassy park and much colour all around, with a dark monsoon cloudy sky reflecting the light beautifully onto the ground. Uttar Pradesh at her best?
