Sausage Tree or Balam Kheera tree is grown as an ornamental tree mainly for its unusually large fruit that looks like sausage and hence the name. This tree with massive fruit and seed pods can be seen at Jor Bagh Metro station in New Delhi. The fruit is consumed after drying or cooking. It is also used to make liquor in some tropical cultures.
