This land snail is a type of gastropod mollusk characterized by its spiral shell and moist, slimy skin. India is home to nearly 1,450 species of snails and slugs, with the highest density found in the Northeast and the Western Ghats. Characteristics and Behavior: Habitat: These snails typically thrive in dark, damp, and moist environments, such as under rocks, in gaps, or beneath soil. They are most active during the monsoon season.
