Few Indians go hungry today. Between government initiatives and citizen philanthropy, everyone gets a decent enough feed. The poor wait in line as NGO's and private soup kitchens bring in food to feed the families of poor patients visiting the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Safdarjung Hospital, two of the largest hospital in Asia. Poor migrant labourers and residents of rain baseras or shelters for the poo can take advantage of this freed roadside food distribution. Dal - Chaval or rice and lentils are the main food on offer.
