Built over 450 years ago, Humayun’s Tomb is the first of the grand dynastic mausoleums that would later become synonymous with Mughal architecture, serving as the burial site for the Mughal emperor Humayun as well as over 150 Mughal family members. The tomb even went on to inspire the construction of the Taj Mahal 80 years later. One can also see Barber’s Tomb (Nai Ka Gumbad), with Nila Gumbad in the background, both of which are located within the Humayun’s Tomb complex. In close proximity to the main tomb, Nai Ka Gumbad was supposedly constructed to honour Humayun’s favourite barber.
