The village of Tashigang / Tashigong is a remote outpost in the Himalaya, in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. Just the barren almost trans Himalayan landscape en route tells a story of an ancient monastery perched on a near cliff above a small stream near the Tibet border of India. Almost like Ladakh in terms of its remoteness and barren-ness, this must be one of the most remote outposts in India, and definitely the highest inhabited village in Himachal Pradesh. Tashigang is a village near an ancient monastery in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is the highest settlement in Spiti Valley, and is located in the Sutlej river valley near the India-Tibet border. National Highway 22 connects Khab with state capital Shimla.
