The Pushkar Mela rises from the desert like a living painting—waves of golden dust drifting under a sun that glows like molten brass. Across the vast open field, thousands gather, their silhouettes merging into a sea of colour and anticipation. A thick rope encircles the main arena, and inside this boundary, an entire world of tradition breathes. Local artists step into the spotlight, their Rajasthani costumes exploding with shades of crimson, saffron, and peacock blue. As the first note of the band baaja—the traditional Indian brass band—cuts through the warm air, their skirts swirl, turbans spin, and silver jewellery sings with every movement.
