How would it feel if you were asked to stay in a shelter home for a night? These sad faces have a breath of relief only because of these shelter homes as it is better than staying on the roads with sick relatives. Lack of an adequate number of shelter homes leads to people to sleep on footpaths outside AIIMS, Delhi. Patients, who, along with their relatives, come from other states, and are forced to stay on the pavements due to the lack of free accommodation. The main problem is the poor condition of the washroom. The stench of urine from the partially closed toilets is indomitable. All these people stay outside the hospital till the next appointment, many too poor to go home and come back.
