Bringing together two people who are said to be well-suited is the idea of a Hindu wedding. The ceremonies are traditional and partially conducted in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is mainly used in chanting mantras in most Hindu ceremonies. At times the ceremonies are conducted in Hindi as most people do not understand Sanskrit. The rituals have progressed since conventional times and differ in many ways in the modern time. Different regions, families and castes have different rituals across India. The Hindus attach a lot of importance to marriages, and the ceremonies are very colorful and extend for several days.
