Porta potties along the Ganges river for temporary toilet usage. Does untreated sewage waste flow into the Ganga? Tents put up on the sand banks of the Ganga act as shelters for participants of river running events such as the Four Square one that was sponsored by a cigarette brand. A temporary Beach Volleyball net and some sand is all it takes to create a fun venue for some impromptu fun in the sun, along the Ganga river in Shivpuri, above Rishikesh, in Uttarakhand. It is for the disturbance caused by these camps that the river running business along the Ganges was temporarily shut down by the courts and environmental monitoring bodies in India, in 2016.
