The Violet Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa violacea), with its velvety black body and metallic violet wings, creates a mesmerizing moment when it settles gently on a **white and pink Hollyhock flower (Alcea rosea). As it lands, the bee steadies itself on the soft petals, its strong legs gripping the delicate surface. Slowly, it begins probing deep into the flower’s central column, using its long tongue to sip the rich nectar hidden within. While feeding, its fuzzy body brushes against the flower’s pollen-covered stamens, collecting golden dust that clings naturally to its hairs.
