A large ceremonial marching band rehearses for the Republic Day Parade along Kartavya Path, formerly known as Rajpath, in New Delhi. The musicians wear dark blue or black uniforms with peak caps and march in formation while playing brass and wind instruments, including sousaphones, trumpets, trombones and saxophones. Officials and security personnel walk alongside the marching contingent during the rehearsal. Tall trees line the avenue, while winter haze creates a misty backdrop and temporary spectator structures marked “REPUBLIC DAY” are visible in the distance.
