Helleborus orientalis, commonly known as the Lenten Rose, is a stunning winter-to-early-spring blooming perennial admired for its elegant, cup-shaped flowers. Native to parts of Greece and Turkey, this hardy plant thrives in cool climates and shaded garden spaces. Unlike most flowering plants that bloom in warmer months, Helleborus orientalis brings life and color to gardens during late winter when little else is in bloom. The flowers appear in beautiful shades of white, pink, purple, green, and even speckled patterns. Its evergreen, leathery foliage provides year-round ground cover, making it a favorite among gardeners and landscape designers. The plant prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil and partial to full shade conditions. Despite its delicate beauty, all parts of the plant are toxic
