A couple of Totas are busy tearing apart a lump of what looks like a bird's nest or more likely a Five-striped Palm squirrel's nest drey. It looks like they have been up to something naughty and decided to make a mess of the nest.

Camouflaged inside a thicket of Lantana bush, a Rose-ringed Parakeet is seen struggling on the small twigs but manages to settle in and feast on the berries. Notice how the Tota uses its claws to pick on the berries.

A pair of Rose-ringed Parakeet lovebirds are seen on a Persian Lilac Tree busy in their act of reproduction /copulation mid-winter. The two are seen in a bit of courtship before our cameras filmed them mating. / copulating.

It looks like a Bittern at times but this is an Indian Pond Heron or Ardeola grayii filmed at our Wilderness Orchard stealthily approaching its prey. Take a look at the precision of hunting once it spots its prey underwater.

Solo with no competition, a Brown-headed barbet is seen being a picky eater at our Wilderness Orchard in early winter. Looks like our little birdie has got too much to pick from fleeting from one branch to the other.

These urban birds are resilient and least bothered by the traffic movement underneath them. Drongos and Red-vented Bulbuls (Pycnonotus cafer) are common in urban areas and it will be breeding time soon after the cold winter.

A hungry Pond Heron looks rather deceptively like a Bittern (Botaurinae), two Damselflies in love and one of them didn't survive the quick reflex of the bird. The Bittern's beak reaches out for the mating insects and snaps one of them.

A green and brown barbet with prominent pale streaks on its brown head and breast. The brown throat and green wings with white speckling on the shoulders are characteristic of this species.

Winter is ending here in Delhi and the male Parakeet is seen on a Persian Lilac tree near our office complex. The mating season will soon be here and this colourful bird will seek out its mate.
