A Blue Admiral butterfly is observed in Motidhar, showcasing its remarkable camouflage. The underside of its wings is dark, mottled brown, closely resembling a dried leaf—an effective defense mechanism against predators. Its jagged wing edges further enhance this leaf-mimicking appearance. While the underside is cryptic, the upperside of the Blue Admiral is typically dark blue-black with a distinct light blue band. The basal half of the underside appears darker with a wavy black line, while the outer portion is slightly lighter and intricately patterned. This species is widely distributed across South Asia, including India, and is commonly found in forested and hilly regions.
