A painting teacher from Jammu & Kashmir opens up about her challenging yet determined journey in the world of art. She recalls how difficult it was to pursue painting in a place where girls’ security is still a concern. Whenever she stayed outdoors for longer practice sessions, her mother would instantly call to check on her. Despite this, she continued learning passionately. She listens to radio programmes and helps whenever she hears someone needs guidance. She now teaches art to children and proudly says the kids are sincere, never differentiate, and many learn very quickly.
